Orlando Discount Hotels online guide with current discounts on vacation accommodations to save you money
![]() An Overview of OrlandoWhen planning your stay in Orlando, you'll want to select a hotel that's centrally located to your destinations. There are many inexpensive hotels on the fringes of Orlando, but many of these are a long drive away from the major attractions and theme parks. This may be all right if you're planning to do a lot of driving anyway; on the other hand, it may put more miles on your rental car than you're willing to pay. There are plenty of other options. Many of the hotels near Universal Studios and Walt Disney World offer complementary shuttle service to those theme parks. These shuttles usually run from one hour before park opening to three hours after; the main disadvantage is that you can't just get up and leave when your day is done. However, you won't be spending extra for parking. Those traveling with very small children may appreciate not having to wrangle strollers and car seats back into the car at the end of the day. Any hotel along International Drive will be conveniently situated to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios; SeaWorld is just down the road, so you'll be handy to just about all the major attractions. International Drive also links you to the major highways out of Orlando, so if you're planning any day trips you won't have far to go. Orlando is right in the heart of Florida, and nearly everything you want to see is within a couple hours drive time. Nearly all of the hotels available serve some kind of morning breakfast; you'll at least be able to fill the kids up on fruit and juice and sweet rolls before braving the day. Some have attached restaurants featuring a full breakfast, and it's wise to get the kids something wholesome to start with, since chances are they'll be eating candy and popcorn by nightfall. Many hotels offer in-room microwaves and even small refrigerators upon request, so be sure and ask for these amenities when you make your reservations. It's also worth you while to get directions to the major attractions from your hotel, so you don't spend all day driving around lost. Walt Disney World, with its four theme parks, can be a nightmare to access for the unwary traveler. Get yourself a map and study it well before visiting Orlando.
